On my Own! Joe officially went back to work today. Yes, Patrick and I were sad. He was extra clingy all day long. Hopefully, it's just a growth spurt. Alas, summer appears to be over, but not quite...for me at least. It's such a peculiar feeling! I'm so used to getting into the hustle and bustle of school as well. I miss it, but I also appreciate this time home with Patrick. 10:29 PM 9/02/2008 0 Comments:That's right kids! Just five more days until I'm free for the summer! Actually, I'm free until FEBRUARY! Of course, much of that time will be taken up by a little Conroy ;) I can't wait, I feel like the only time I've got right now is the weekends when I can breathe and actually get things done. Poor Joe, yesterday I asked him to help me fold laundry. Before he knew it, we were taking over the laundry room by storm, cleaning every nook and cranny, making the whole place absolutely immaculate! I think the nesting business has decided to set in! I'm not sure we've seen the laundry room so clean since we moved in nearly 5 years ago!! Alas, the summer will leave me with many projects. Of course, pregnancy can't stop me from my annual big summer project. This year, I'm really gonna paint our bedroom a lighter shade of sage. We also have the baby's room to finish. Not to mention the various baby projects, like the baby quilt that I started months ago or the baby carrier that I've got fabric waiting for. It's going to be a great summer! By the end, the Conroys will number THREE! Labels: Family, School, Seasons 9:24 AM 6/16/20080 Comments:It seems that every year, around this time, I begin to doubt myself. I doubt my teaching ability and have this horrible notion that I'm going to get fired or something. Do I have a legitimate reason to even believe this? Of course not! And of course, likewise, I am always reassured that I'm doing just fine! My observation went well this week. My supervisor was blown away by my classroom, so much of it, so meticulously done. I feel at ease once again in my teaching. One more observation to go this year, and then I'm down two years with one to go! This week I've got a lot weighing on my shoulders. From my first OB appointment to my second observation to two very important meetings to round out the week, the upcoming 3 day weekend will surely be well deserved. I just hope I can survive the next five days! This year, we spend much of our time trying to achieve something of a miracle. Of course, nothing has really gone quite smoothly ever in our life together. This little miracle project wouldn't be any different..so keep us in your thoughts as we continue to work on it. Joe and I just had a wonderful weekend in Turin, NY with some of our nearest and dearest friends. Although they'll never be my favorite band, going to moe.down every year has sort of been a tradition. It's like the last hurrah of summer, where the days are warm and the nights chill you thoroughly. The leaves in the north are already starting to change. We were fortunate this year in that we had no rain! It was truly a gorgeous, yet dusty weekend. Tomorrow signifies the start of fall for us. Entering the classroom yet once again to a bunch of young faces with yet to be known personalities. We're just as nervous as they are, of course! Ahh well, another year to begin! Labels: Live Music, milestones, School 9:37 PM 9/04/20070 Comments:As I sit here in my classroom, the AC gives me a bit of a chill. That won't be the case for long!! In another hour, we head outside for Field Day. It's supposed to be 86 today. Tomorrow we head off to Colonial Philadelphia on a trip, the predicted temp? 90!!! Of course, when I finally get a room with AC, I still end up outside in the heat! Ahh well, only 16 more mornings I need to get up! Thank Goodness for that! Labels: School 10:37 AM 5/30/20070 Comments:It seems that every year, school gets to a completely unbearable point where you just want it to be over any done with. There are precisely 19 days of school left, and it already feels like it's pulling teeth. That might not seem like a long time, but that's nearly 4 weeks..4 weeks from today, I'll be relaxing on my outdoor sofa making a list for Disney. 4 weeks can't come quick enough! Until then, at least we've got the long weekend! It seems like months that we spend talking about it. That would be Elise and I. It's Memorial Day. Do you know what that means? It's the start of the beach season. It seems that it starts nearly in October when one of us will say to the other "I wish we could just go to the beach!" and even just last week, she wrote me a txt saying that she wished we were at the beach. Well it's here! The beach is waiting for us, our little spot, same as always! The sunshine waiting to give us a nice healthy glow. It will be my little piece of sanity between now and the next 19 days of school..but by that time, it will only be 18..oh how fast it really does go! Labels: School 7:46 PM 5/24/20070 Comments: |
