Building Our Own Traditions![]() Last year, on Rosh Hashana, Joe and I headed on a day trip up to Chestnut Hill, PA. We discovered this little gem of a town several years ago when we wandered upon their arts street fair. We've since gone back to explore the trails of the Wissahickon River, wander the village, and explore the joys of Morris Arboretum. ![]() This year, we headed back on Rosh Hashana yet again to do a repeat of last year's great day, with one big change, Patrick! Joe mentioned it a few weeks back and we've been looking forward to the day ever since. We took our little munchkin hiking and tuckered the guy out before heading to The Melting Pot for a delicious dinner. The weather was perfect! The company divine! I think we've officially got a new tradition! Just spending time with EACH OTHER has become a task as every extra moment goes to baby. We took the time on Saturday to head up to Princeton with the baby in the drizzle, rather than sit around at home. After hitting up the running store, we poked around the famous Princeton Record Exchange for a while where we picked up a few cheap CDs before heading to lunch at Winberies and finishing it all off with some delicious Bent Spoon. Princeton Record Exchange is always fun. You never really know what you're going to find, and it's like digging in a gold mine. Our all-time prized find was a great cd titled Party to the Bus Stop by The New Jersey Kings. We'd never heard of them before, so when we saw the absurdity of the CD cover, we HAD to buy it. Little did we know it would become such a staple in our collection. Yesterday wasn't as notable, but we did manage to find a few things that tickled our fancy. There is no better way to spend a drizzly Saturday afternoon! I love taking in all that fall has to offer. Seeing mums on porches, pumpkins on stoops, and leaves blowing around is so exciting! It's really only the beginning. This week, it was chillier than it has been, so Patrick Finn was able to don his new dinosaur sweater. It's perfect for the season! Labels: Baby Patrick, Seasons 11:49 AM 9/26/20080 Comments:So when my maternity leave finally started, they took my computer away from me! I knew they were going to, but alas, the summer ended and it happened. Joe and I had talked about buying a new macbook for me, but we were awaiting Apple's Let's Rock even on the 9th to see what new things would be presented. On the same behalf, we also had to consider whether or not to buy before the 15th, when we could still get a few ipod nano (for Patrick of course!). So when Steve Jobs made his big announcement, I was pleased that I had waited...new nanos! Yeah, right, new nanos excluded from the promotion :/ I didn't really want a nano anyway..it's not even as big as my current ipod..shh, you know, 20 gigs? LOL! But it was FREE! I figured at the very least we could put all of Patrick's music on it..so he could have his OWN ipod that cost us nothing! I sucked it up and drove to Delaware, land of tax free shopping, today to pick up a macbook and a last generation nano. It was a nice short trip for us..and P now has his own nano :) So now I've got my own computer! For the first time in two years, I've got a computer I can install software on! It's not just work stuff anymore! Labels: Everything Else 4:53 PM 9/12/20080 Comments:![]() My goodness! Where has the time gone?! One month ago, I was in sheer bliss over my new little man. Here I am, a month later, cuddling with him as I post! One month goes by fast! He certainly keeps me busy! Labels: Baby Patrick, milestones 11:28 AM 9/08/20080 Comments:![]() I think P officially received notice of how he should be acting, rather than how he has! Perhaps he has gas, perhaps he's overstimulated, none the less, we've had our share of fussies the last four days! It's been grunt and groan, one after the other, almost like he's struggling with something..or just out to get me ;) This morning, he was peaceful once again..I love my little man! Labels: Baby Patrick 1:09 PM 9/05/20080 Comments:Joe officially went back to work today. Yes, Patrick and I were sad. He was extra clingy all day long. Hopefully, it's just a growth spurt. Alas, summer appears to be over, but not quite...for me at least. It's such a peculiar feeling! I'm so used to getting into the hustle and bustle of school as well. I miss it, but I also appreciate this time home with Patrick. 10:29 PM 9/02/2008 0 Comments: |
